Accessibility

We want anyone to be able to shop at EchoVibe — whether or not you use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, or your browser's zoom at 200%. This page explains where we stand, without dressing it up.

Our commitment

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA as our reference. We do not claim full conformance with them: it is the goal we are working towards, and we review it every time we change something in the store.

What we have done

  • The site can be navigated with the keyboard alone. There is a skip link at the start so you can jump straight to the content instead of going through the whole menu.
  • Every photo has alternative text, so a screen reader can describe it. Decorative photos are marked as such, so they stay out of the way.
  • Every page declares its language (Spanish, English or Russian), so a screen reader pronounces it with the right voice.
  • One main heading per page and headings in order, so you can move from section to section.
  • Buttons and links have names, including the ones that only show an icon.
  • Identified regions (header, navigation, content and footer) and a breadcrumb trail on product pages and collections.
  • Text can be enlarged with the browser's zoom without losing content.

What we know still falls short

We would rather tell you than have you run into it:

  • Some parts are not ours. The checkout screens are served by Shopify and the reviews section by Judge.me. We do not write their code and cannot fix it directly; what we do is pass on any problems you report to us.
  • Some product photos reach us from our suppliers at low resolution and lose sharpness when enlarged. We replace them as we get better originals.
  • We have not yet had an external accessibility audit. The checks made so far are our own.

If something does not work for you, tell us

It is the fastest way for us to fix it, and we genuinely appreciate it. Write to bernabeword@gmail.com telling us which page it was, what you were trying to do, and what you use (screen reader, keyboard only, zoom…). We reply within 24 working hours.

If a barrier on the site stops you from completing an order or reading some information, tell us and we will give it to you another way: by email or by phone, at +1 509-830-3346. We do not want anyone left unable to buy because of this.
